2 MORE Olympic Trial Qualifiers: Kaitlyn Albertoli & Kendall Brown!

 
 

AQUAZOTS SHINE AT NCSA FLORIDA JUNIOR NATIONALS

4 NEW OLYMPIC TRIAL CUTS AND 2 NEW QUALIFIERS!

At the end of March, accompanied by Coach Brian and Coach Todd, 24 AZOT swimmers hopped on a plane bound for Orlando, ready to go!  After 5 days of tough competition, including morning swims (short course yards) and evening swims (long course meters), AZOT walked away with two new Olympic Trials Qualifiers, Kendall Brown and Kaitlyn Albertoli, and 4 new cuts (Albertoli: 50 free; Brown: 200 fly, 400 IM; Daniela Georges, veteran qualifier, 200 back).

Several Aquazot girls earned second swims or finished in the top 32: Kaitlyn Albertoli (13th) 50 free, (27th) 100 free; Kendall Brown (25th) 200 fly, (10th) 400 IM, (21st) 800 free, (6th) 1500 free; Daniela Georges (17th) 400 free, (27th) 800 free, (14th) 200 back, (18th) 200 fly; Emily Jiang (32nd) 100 fly, (30th) 200 free; Brittany Kahn (30th) 400 IM, (24th) 400 free, (14th) 800 free, (10th) 1000 free; Karli Thuen (28th) 400 IM; Brynne Wong (9th) 50 fly, (18th) 100 fly.  Three of the girls' relays placed in the top 16 including the 400 Free relay of Kaitlyn Albertoli, Daniela Georges, Dayae Choi and Emily Jiang (4th); the 200 Free relay of Brynne Wong, Kaitlyn Albertoli, Daniela Georges and Dayae Choi (15th) and the 800 Free relay of Daniela Georges, Kaitlyn Albertoli, Emily Jiang and Dayae Choi (16th).

On the boys side, those earning second swims (or top 32) include: Jared Namba (21st) 50 back, (21st) 100 back, (24th) 200 back, (23rd) 200 fly, (20th) 200 IM; Corey Okubo (17th) 100 back, (25th) 100 fly, (3rd) 200 fly, (9th) 200 IM, (2nd) 400 IM; Paul Sigler (16th) 1500 free; Thomas Smith (25th) 100 back, (17th) 200 back; and Ken Takahashi (26th) 400 IM.  The boys 800 Free relay of Liam Karas, Corey Okubo, Jared Namba and Thomas Smith placed 16th.

A huge shout-out is in order for chaperone Mary Brown, who kept the kids organized, well-fed, and taken care of.  Thank you so much, Mary!!
