June 10, 2012
Dear Cheshire Flying Fish Family,
Thank you to everyone for working together to make Time Trials a great success!
As we wrap up the school year and head into summer full swing, I have a few reminders for parents and swimmers.
·All swimmers need to have fins and goggles at each practice. We will start using fins the week of June 18th. Please check the Cheshire website or visit Aquawear to purchase fins.
·Girls – Swim caps are highly suggested for the girls to wear at practice. If a cap is not worn, hair needs to be pulled back and secured in a ponytail/braid/etc.
·Evening Practices are for swimmers involved in summer school, summer camps, or other summer activities that conflict with morning practice times. Please contact Coach Romash prior to having your swimmer attend an evening practice.
·All swimmers are expected to have the “Team Uniform” to wear during swim meets. Just as any football or hockey team would have matching jerseys and helmets – Cheshire swimmers need to have matching suits and caps (i.e. last season’s suits and caps that are Cheshire colors are not acceptable).
oThe team suit is new this season and all members are to purchase a NEW team suit. They are available on our website. Please be sure to log in to get your discounted price.
oCaps – “Fear the Fish” is the team cap. Available from the Apperson for $12
·All swimmers will be entered in all swim meets unless they have been signed out of the meet. The sign-out book will be at the pool during morning practices. Swimmers are to be signed out by 10:00 AM the Wednesday prior to the meet that week. If you are not able to sign a swimmer out in the book, please contact Coach Romash.
·Swimmers will be entered in the maximum number of individual events each meet – 6 and under, 2 events – 7 and over, 3 events. The number of relays a swimmer will be entered in will be determined by the coaches (maximum of two relays).
oPLEASE check entries for each meet when they are posted. Mistakes are made when entering 95 swimmers in 66 events. Please bring it to our attention if you think a mistake has been made.
·Stroke clinic sign-ups are in the same book and the meet sign-out. Stroke clinics are being held from 9:30-10:00 AM – free of charge.
·Clinics are limited to 12 swimmers. 6 and unders may not participate in the stroke clinics.
·Clinics focus on one stroke per day – Monday – Butterfly, Tuesday – Backstroke, Wednesday – Breaststroke, Thursday – Freestyle, Friday – Starts & Turns.
·Clinics will not count towards practice attendance.

oIf you do not receive confirmation that I have received your e-mail or text (I will usually reply with a simple “Thank you” so you know I have received your message) – please assume that I did not receive the information.
I’m looking forward to a fun filled summer for all!!
See you around the pool!
PS: Please remember there is only practice on Monday and Tuesday of this upcoming week (June 11 & 12)
