July 12, 2012
Congratulations to the following swimmers who have been named “Swimmer of the Month” for June 2012.
TailgatorGreen - Katie Ambrose
Katie has done a tremendous job this month. Not only has she accomplished a great attendance record, but she has done a terrific job at practice working hard and leading by example. She has also shown remarkable improvement at meets and in practice. Congrats Katie and keep up the great work!!
Gold - Caroline McCurdy
Caroline truly understands the importance of focusing on proper stroke, which has lead to some tremendous improvement. This season, Caroline has dropped 17 seconds in the 50 fly, 13 seconds in the 50 breast, and 23 seconds in the 100 breast, as well as many other best times. At only 7 years of age, she is within seconds of a few 9-year-old Championship cuts. With the way she has been training during this past month, she has put herself in excellent position to make those cuts this weekend at Springfield.
AG-Bronze - Emily
Emily has been consistently leading her lane during practices by focusing on technique and tempo, while also finding new ways to challenge herself. The results of all of this hard work are clearly showing in competition. Although Emily is turning 10 right before 14 & Under Championships, she has still managed to make 2 10-year-old times and is very close to a few more. Swimmers with birthdays immediately before Championships should look to Emily as an example of how we can always overcome such obstacles with enough hard work and focus.
AG-Silver - Ben Matejka
Ben Matejka is the Silver Group June Swimmer of the Month. He had great attendance in June. Ben is a very supportive teammate who leads by example. Ben has improved the level of his training and has been swimming faster in practice each day. He is really focused on trying to make faster intervals and gives 100 percent effort on each set. Congrats Ben!
AG-Gold - Jess Gearan
I'm proud to announce the Jess Gearan has been chosen for Age Group Gold's Swimmer of The Month! Jess is a very competitive swimmer and is consistent in her training. She always gives 100% during workout, and is always looking for ways to better her strokes and races. Since becoming a member of Gold, Jess has shown great improvement not only with her technique but also event personal times. Jess shows great confidence each and every workout, taking every set given and giving her all each time. Congratulations to Jess Gearan, keep up the good work!
