The BCST seniors got off to a great start this last weekend at the Cascade Senior Invitational. 82 swimmers representing the Sr 2, Sr 1, and Sr Elite groups competed, and as you would expect at this time of the year, they showed a little rust & fatigue but never the less swam with a lot of heart. I always preach that there are two things you can control in a race, your execution and your effort. For the most part, we were pleased with the swimmers performances in these two phases. Still, there’s a lot of work to do as we approach our fall championships in December, and our peak SCY championships in March.
Some of the highlights from the “I haven’t swum this event in a while” department. Danielle Booth dropped an amazing 31 seconds in her 200 IM. Not to be outdone, Morgan Ciliv, who just returned from his 2 year stint in Boston and Istanbul, dropped a combined 66 seconds in his four events. But the winner of the “I haven’t swum this in a while” was Todd McCarthy who dropped 200 seconds in his 1000 Free. Great job all three of you!
And congratulations to these swimmers who achieved 100% best times! Michael Badiozamani, Morgan Ciliv, Ryan Johnston, Annalise Nahlin, Maggie Pana, Sofija Raisys, and Brandon Wong.
