Swim Across America May 5 2013
Calling all Hurricane Swimmers and Families:

Because of the dedicated work of Brian Abeyta and the generosity of our sponsor, AFLAC, we are privileged to be part of Swim Across America, 2013, May 5, 2013, Lake Spivey, Clayton County!
Best of all the Hurricane team will be supporting the AFLAC Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta ! (As many of you know, Taylor Williams, Hurricane team member, was treated at AFLAC’s center in summer and fall of 2012.)
How can you make waves? Join team AFLAC, Olympians, and other teams in an open water swim on May 5, 2013 at Lake Spivey, Clayton County. The swims are 1 mile, ½ mile, 5 k and 10K options.
What you need to do: Before the 24th of April:
Let us know if you want to participate in the swim. Remember AFLAC generously contributed to allow our team to participate! Email Aracelis at aracelisamw@aol.comand indicate swimmers and also which swim they will participate in. We will register all swimmers for the open swim as a group. This is a solid commitment, so please honor it !
Also, on May 4 at the Ga Tech Aquatic Center, swimmers 18 and under can join Olympians, Steve Lundquist, and others in a training session, followed by pictures, autographs, etc. This session is $30. If you want to participate in this session please register at click on Georgia. The Olympic session will be posted there. You will need to register on your own for this session!
We are told that due to colder winter that the temperature of the water will probably be about 70 or below, therefore a bodysuit is recommended. You can rent one for $15 if you wish. This is also done on the same website as the Olympic session. YOU NEED TO DO THIS BEFORE APRIL 24 th to insure that you get a suit for your swimmer!
