Former SJAC Swimmer, and current Arizona Wildcat, Kevin Steel set a new U.S. Open record in the 50 breaststroke at the Phillips 66 National Championships tonight. Kevin initially set the new record in the prelim session and was seeded first going into Finals. Tonight at finals he dropped his time even further to break his own U.S. Open record.
His 1st place finish in the event also put him on the World Championship National Team!!
A U.S. Open record means that it was the fastest time ever recorded in that event when the event was held in the United States.
