Record Breaking Day #1 @ Auburn

Day one in Auburn has gotten The Hurricanes off to a great start: 5 New Team Records, 3 New GAG’s cuts, 2 New Senior Zone cut, and 1 New Top 20 USA Swimming time.

Leading the way with 2 New Team Records, was Josie Hadaway (15) breaking both the 15 – 16, and Open Girls 100m Breaststroke with a time of  1:20.79. Her time was also good enough to qualify for the Sr. Zone Championships in Plantation Fla. late July. Another Sr. Zone time was made by J.D. Rousseau (19) in the 100m Breast with another New Team Record time of 1:13.51. Also getting into the Record breaking act were 10yr old Madigan Starr, and 11 year old Piero Orderique. Madigan’s 400 free time of 5:32.84 shatters Alvena Wolpole’s record by more than 14 seconds. Her swim was good enough to win the event, as well as notch her second GAG’s qualifying time for 11 year olds, as she has a bad birthday turning 11 just before this summer’s championship. A very tough achievement to make that jump. Earlier in the she made the 50m free GAG's standard Piero’s 400 Individual Medley finished our New Team Records for the day. His time of 5:34.26, is good enough to give him his 3rdevent this summer in the Top 20 times for 11 year old boys in the country. Rounding out our new GAG swimmer was Katheryn Livingston's 400m freestyle, her time drop of almost 7 seconds (5:36.55) gets her a 3rd standard for this summer.

It was my goal to have 100 New Team Records before my second here in Columbus. These 5 new records, now puts us at the total 93 New Team Records recorded in less than the two years of The New Storm Era. Who will be the chosen one to break the 100th Record?
