SJAC Swimmers Participate in "Meters for Mike" Fundraiser
This past Saturday several members of the Platinum and Masters groups particpated in an Ocean Swim fundraiser for former CCY swimmer Mike Heaney.
Michael Heaney, a  2009 graduate of The College of New Jersey, was involved in a severe accident on April 11th, 2012 when he was hit by a car while riding his bike.  Michael survived but suffered extensive brain damage as a result of his accident. 100% of the proceeds of this event went to Michael and his family to help pay for medical costs.  It was a wonderful experience with over 700 swimmers from many local colleges and swim teams coming out to support his family.
Here are all the swimmers who participated:
Paige Dunham, Carter Orth, JD Schurer, Logan Barnes, Porter Barnes, Jacob McGee, Gabrielle Timuscuk, Joe Furze, Kyle Worrell, Connor Davis, Coach Adam and Coach Andrew.  Alex Bromley and Maria Timuscuk came down to show their support for the cause as well.  From our Masters Group Brenda Maneri (whose son Paul was a standout SJAC swimmer and now swims for the Univ. of Penn.)
