Hurricanes take Day One Lead.

 

Day one of The 2014 S.W. Divisional Championship bring out the best in the Hurricane distance swimmers. The Hurricanes jump out to an early championship team lead, besting the 16 team field with 678 points. 239 points ahead of 2nd place Americus Albany with 439.

We saw 3 New Team Records set in the first nights competition. Starting off the meet in the first two events, the women’s and men’s 800 Free Relay’s, both Hurricanes teams set new record. First the Women’s finished first with a winning and new record time of 8:05.94   Then the men’s 800 free relay dropped 10 seconds from the  year old record with a time of 7:42.77. Later in the evening Hannah Mattson (12) broke her own 200 IM record with a time of 2:17.94.
