The club will be holding a swim fundraiser event on Monday, April 28th during practice. We encourage everyone to participate in helping raise money for the American Parkinsons Disease Association. Together we can help find a cure and "Kick Parkinsons." As some of you may know; Cary Ann Bailey, mother of Cody and Chloe, Nurse Practitioner, and fellow Saluki Swim Mom, was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease. Only two months after undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation, Cary ran in the Go St. Louis 5K to benefit Parkinson's research. Inspired by Cary's strength and determination, group four swimmers wanted to show their support for Cary by raising money for APDA.
The coaches will determine what distance each group will be swimming. The swimmers will then ask sponsors to donate money for their swim. This can be either a straight donation or per lap (50yds.). To make things easier the swimmer may collect donations at the time in which they ask. Example of lap donation - Swimmer in Group #2 swimming a 500 which = 10 laps. If the sponsor donates $2.00 per lap their total donation would be $20.00. Checks made payable directly to APDA if receipt is needed for tax purposes. If not they may be made to Saluki Swim Club. Print attached pledge form.
T-shirt order forms will also be sent out for the event. Swimmers and family members are encouraged to order shirts. The shirts will cost $10.00 with all proceeds going to APDA. Please help us in making the event a huge success.
