At the 2014 Coast Conference Swimming & Diving Championships recently held at Chabot College, April 17-19, three members of the Los Altos Mountain View Aquatic Club (LAMVAC) distinguished themselves while leading the Foothill College men’s team to a 6th place finish.

Oliver Kask, Karl Muonio, and Michael Thomas all scored high finishes in their events. All three swimmers turned in life, or season, best performances in their events.

Oliver placed highly in his three individual events (14th 100 Free, 9th 200 free, 8th 500 free - 23 points) .

Karl placed very well in his events (5th 100 Back, 5th 200 Back, 5th 1650 Free – 42 points).

Michael was also successful in his three events (5th 200 Ind. Medley, 5th 100 Fly, 6th 200 back - 41 points).

They were all instrumental members on the Foothill relay teams. Their outstanding performance came when all three swimmers joined with teammate Joseph Ananto in a medal winning 3rd place finish in the 800 free relay.

LAMVAC Head Coach & Foothill Assistant Coach, Jose Bonpua said; “ I’m glad that our swimmers were so instrumental in Foothill College’s 800 Free relay’s high placing and the teams success.  I hope this legacy continues for everyone else to follow."
