Dear Swimmers & Families,

Greetings from Coach Holly!  There is a lot going on this week for the Barracudas, so I wanted to write and keep everyone up to date.

Tomorrow morning is our first outdoor Braddock Heights practice.  The 11-younger swimmers are at 8am, and the 12-older swimmers are at 9am.  There is no evening practice at Braddock this week.  Those practices begin next week, from 8:15 – 9pm. However, we WILL be having practices in the evenings at MHS this week.

Next Saturday, June 21 is our first swim meet.  We thought it would be good to use our evening practice time at MHS to hold “Mock Meets”.  This will be a chance for swimmers to learn how meets work, and for parents to learn how to do their meet jobs before an actual meet.  The schedule for the meets is this:

Monday 5 – 7 swimmers ages 9-10, and 13-Older

Tuesday, 4:30 – 5:45 swimmers ages 8-Under, 13-Older

Wednesday 5 – 7 swimmers age 11-12, 13-Older.

On Thursday evening, there is no practice because we will be holding our Season Kickoff Event, at the Braddock Pavilion from 7 – 8:30pm.  This is for swimmers and their families.  We will have an ice cream social and a fun team activity.

On Friday, we will be taking team & individual pictures from 8 – 10am.  It is an All-Team Fun Friday, so we will do something fun after the pictures are over.  The picture order form can be found on the website on the document page.  Please print out a form and bring it with payment if you’d like to order pictures.

Our team uniform vendor,  Amethyst, will be at practice on Tuesday morning from 8 – 10am.  She will have the previously ordered team suits ready for pick up, and she will allow people to order team suits if they haven’t already.  They will most likely not be ready in time for the first meet, but If you want to check sizes and order a team suit, this is you r opportunity.  She will have other team items on hand to purchase, like silicon caps.  Latex team caps are given free to each swimmer, and these will be ready to pick up tomorrow  in your family folder. The folder is in the team ribbon box located in the guard office.

If you want to sign up for the meet next Saturday,  you must declare whether or not your swimmer will swim by NOON on TUESDAY to be entered.   Go to the website at, click on the events tab and look for the Robin Meadows meet.  Say “yes I will” or "no, I will not”  attend.  You may choose 4 individual events.  If your child would like to be on a relay, or if they would NOT, please let me know in the note section.  I am happy to choose events for your swimmer if you’d like.

Lots to remember, I know!!!  Go Barracudas!
