CONGRATS & Busy Week Ahead!

Swimmers & Families,

Congratulations on a winning weekend!  We beat Dearbought by only two points, and Brunswick by 76.  Every swim is important!  I was most excited to see the times get faster for almost every swimmer, especially since we have had a hard two weeks of practices.  We will spend this week sharpening up our racing skills, like starts, turns and finishes.

Coach Raegan: Great job to everyone at today’s and yesterday’s meets!   Congrats to all the people who dropped time and made All-Stars!  I can’t wait to see how everyone improves at Divisionals!

Coach Kia:  Wow, what a weekend!  I’m so proud of all of our swimmers at both meets.  Between winning against Dearbought by two points to having our first night meet, all of the swimmers remained enthusiastic and ready to swim.  Congrats to all the All-Star qualifiers as well.

Coach Eric:  Way to go in these back-to-back meets!  We won by two points on Saturday because  of everybody pushing themselves and getting best times1  Way to go on Sunday, too.  Keep up the great work!

Coach Oksana:  What a great last one-on-one meet!  I loved watching everyone improve and get closer and closer to All-Star times.  I want to thank everyone who stepped in to fill in empty spots so we wouldn’t have to scratch.  I’m so proud of every swimmer for working their hardest so we could come away with the win!  Congrats everyone!

This week is the last week of practices for anyone who hasn’t qualified for the All-Star Meet.  We have some special activities planned.  On Thursday from 7 – 8pm we will have a Kickball & Nail Polish night at the Braddock Pavilion for everyone who wants to attend.   Please bring your own water and nail polish to share.

On Friday, we will have an All-Team Fun Friday from 8 – 10am.  We will have a Water Blast – bring your own squirt gun and we will play water games.

On Sunday, we have our Team Awards Picnic from noon to 2pm.  There is no cost for this picnic.  We need a general head count to order the chicken in advance, so please sign up on the team website by Tuesday for that.   If you don’t sign up, you are still welcome to attend the picnic.

Swimmers of the Week for July 14 – 19 were Brooke Hodos, Alex Smith, Isablle Stepler and Josh Baird.  For the weeks of June 30 - July 11 they were Mackenzie Coyne, Vaughn Hatfield and Lizzie Brown.   There was a tie for the boys Swimmer of the Week which will be re-awarded this coming Friday.

New All-Star Qualifiers from the Dearbought & Brunswick meets are:

Kayla Hodor 25 Breast

Gavin Kosch 25 Fly

Graham Putnam 25 & 50 Free

Jack Schmiel 25 Free

Tyler Sheppard 100 IM

Hugh Winchester Dodd 25 & 50 Free, 25 Back

Congratulations!!  I can’t wait to see how many more swimmers are added to our All-Star roster after Divisionals!  Please remember to sign up TODAY by midnight

Go Barracudas!
