5 SJAC Swimmers Qualify for USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team

A big Congrats to our 5 SJAC swimmers who were recognized as part of the 2013-2014 USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team.

In order to be eligible for this honor, a swimmer must have swum a time equal to a Junior National 2011 bonus time in any event.  The swimmer also must have a minimum of a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year.  Out of approximately 75,000 swimmers eligible for this award there are only 1782 athletes across the county who end up meeting the requirements.

Last we year had two swimmers make the team and this year we have more than doubled that number!!  And even better we have added (for the first time in SJAC's history) several male swimmers to the team.

Here are the athletes who made the team:

Sophie Fontaine
Carter Orth (2nd year in row)
Dragan Vujovic
Matthew Taccard
Ryan Caffrey

A huge congratulations to everyone for all their hard work - both in the pool and in the classroom!
