The Hood River Harvest of Gold Swim Meet was a great success this past weekend for the Osprey. With 393 swimmers from 8 teams attending, the families enjoyed our area and most went home toting boxes of apples and pears from our local orchards. The swim team wishes to thank especially the Party and Rental Center, Moore Orchards, Starbucks, the Hood River Aquatic Center and the families of the Hood River Valley Swim Team and the Columbia Gorge Masters for all their help in running a quality event at our pool.
Sarah Arpag, Marina Castaneda, Amy Elliott, Jesse Elliott, Dhani Freeland, Michelle Graves, Kylie Webb and Brinna Weiseth all achieved state qualifying "A" times to begin the season with. Sarah Arpag, Faith Ocheskey and Michelle Graves swam 7 events and achieved 7 personal best times - Clayton Lee was close behind with 7 events and 6 personal best times.
Swimmers in their very first swim meet for the Osprey this weekend were Moz Banks, Sequoia Cohen, Ivy Collins, Cleo Koerner, Zan Lapp, Sawyer McCauley, Katie Medley, Lena Parsons, Nivia Rocha Buel, Ryan Salmon, Leah Sandoval, and Sky Viavoda-Kerr. Congratulations swimmers for a job well done!
