Volunteers needed

 Hi All

This year COOGS will be out supporting the Houston Marathon on Sunday 19th January and we need as many volunteers as we can get. We have been given a location on Westpark bridge, on Westpark between Weslayan and Newcastle. Volunteers need to be there before 6:30am when the roads will be closed for the race. They will open up again as the last runner passes that point.

This point is mile 12 on the marathon course and an important part of the race for those taking part so they will need lots of encouragement and cheering. There will be lots of COOGS masters swimmers taking part in the race and I know they will love seeing their COOGS teammates as they battle this race.

We will be setting up a tent and have music playing but as we are not an official aid station we cannot hand water etc to the runners. All volunteers must be wearing COOG gear, if you need to purchase a tshirt then please contact coach Greg asap, they are $15 each. You can also purchase team gear through our website link to D&J Sports. Bring anything you have that will  make noise and be LOUD!!!! Swimmers are also encouraged to make banners and signs if they wish.

If you are planning on volunteering your time then please contact Coach Greg asap so he can send in numbers to the race officials before Sunday 11th January.

Regards
