February 15, 2015
Well the count down is on, we are 3 weeks out from our International Splash Meet. We have hosting 14 teams from all over Asia, so this is a great opportunity to make new friends and compete against swimmers we have never seen before.
Splash Meet is two days, but day one is the team competition day. Day two (Sunday) is 50 m (long course) races and are not for team points, only individual. We will move the bulkhead back Saturday night and then have the Olympic size pool for Sunday. There are Qualifying Times for these races, so you will have to check with your coach to see if you are ready for these races.
By this week, you should have been contacted by your coach and shown what events you will be swimming. Remember that we are committed to this meet. We do not want any last minute withdrawals; make the changes to your calendar now. Relays are made based on these entries, when some withdraws; the whole age group is affected.
Please note that we are no longer held to the Qualifying Times for Singapore meet, so if you want to go let me know.
Thursday Feb 20th:
Friday/Saturday Feb 21/21: Activity free weekend (No Practice)
High School Track and Field starts this week:
Please do not walk across the track, use the pathway around. This would be the equivalent of a group of people coming across our pool deck while we were practicing. Let’s be responsible Panthers and set examples to all other sports.
New Swimmers (shirts and caps):
Coaches will hand out at practice to new swimmers.
Vendors for racing suits and equipment:
All of our vendors will once again be at our pool for our Splash Meet. If you need a black race suit or your training equipment (like proper fins), this will be the best time to get them.
Meet signups available
ISB Splash 2015 (March 7&8)
All swimmers should be registered and events will be picked by the end of this week. This is a competitive meet and swimmers will swim events best for the team (get us the most points). Please communicate with your coaches so we all know what we are swimming and why!
Go Panthers…looking for back to back Splash Championships!
Perth Asian All-Stars Meet (April 4,5)
Entries are due soon; at this moment we do not have enough to send a coach, so if anyone is considering this please let us know.
Dragon’s Den: United World College (April 24-26): expecting over 1000 swimmers! Will be amazing
***Qualifying Times are no longer in place for this meet*** We have met the minimum swimmer count, but would love to take a bigger squad. The more the merrier. I have talked with the coach and the Qualifying Times for travel teams are now flexible! So, if you wanted to go, but did not make the QTs, now you can go.
That is all for now, see you on deck!
