Clovis Short Course Senior Travel Meet

February 27, 28, March 1, 2015

The EBA Senior group took their annual trip to Clovis, California to finish February off with some fast swimming. Although the weather was not as warm as it usually is, the swimmers stepped up and had some great swims and fun times. The 18 EBAT swimmers joined with 21 MSJA swimmers to make us 49 swimmers strong at this fast and competitive meet. We took 4th place out of 41 teams and we didn’t even swim finals on our final day! Great job EBA!!!

Jaya Garcia had a best time in the 200 back and was right on her times in her other events. Monica Gong had some strong swims as well in her freestyle events. Laura Macchiavello  got a best time in the 200 back and Jessica Mi got a best time in her 200 free. Jessica also had strong swims in her other events. Aris Jernigan swam really well in her 50 & 200 free as well as 100 breast. Great job ladies! A shout out to some strong efforts from Paige Heacox and Lucianna Balica too!!

Sebastian Balica probably had the most successful meet getting best times in all his events! Geat job, Sebastian! He almost went under 1 minute in 100 fly! Dominic Canepa got a best time in 50 free and had a good swim in his 200 free. Anthony Chew got a best time in his 400 IM, breaking 5 minutes for the first time! He also had a really good 100 breast. Brandon Chin swam a gutsy 500 free and also got a best time in 400 IM! Erik Clemensen had a couple good swims in the 50 free individual and 100 free in the relay. Daniel Cooney swam very well in the 100 free and 500 free and Brian Corbett had a best time in 100 free and a great swim in 100 fly. Andrew Davis had a best time in 100 breast, and good times in 200 IM and 100 free. Andrew Doss had a couple of really good performances in the 50 free and 500 free and Carson Sand swam some best unshaved times as well as a best time in 200 back. He was also an event winner in the 200 breast. Nice job! Donny Watts had some really good swims and managed to wait until after the meet to hurt himself this time. (He rolled his ankle at the HUSKY invite and had to scratch the last day). Donny had best times in the 100 free and 200 breast and had some excellent performances in the 50 free, 500 free, and 100 breast. Great job!

Thanks to all those who swam your guts out in relays! That’s what really made the difference in our team getting 4th place! Great Job!

A big thanks to our EBAT Chaperones – Margaret Gong, Amanda Chin, and Kim Jernigan! This trip could not have happened without you! THANKS!!!!!
