Calling all wannabe Stroke and turn judges and Hytek support volunteers

When they say "It takes a village..." they must have been talking about summer swim meets!  Fun and full of friendly competition, a successful swim meet requires the help of parent volunteers.  There are several opportunities for parents to get involved. Please support your swimmer(s) and volunteer!   As we prepare for the start of the season, we are looking to fill the following committee chair and Official positions:

Certified Stroke and Turn Judge: Training is required for those interested in becoming a Stroke & Turn Judge.  As a Stroke & Turn Judge, you will be partnered with a S&T from the another team and work together to determine if swimmers are following the rules for each stroke. Non-conformance, frequently referred to as “DQ” or disqualification, is noted on a "DQ slip" and brought to scoring table.

This is a great position for either the seasoned swim team veteran or those new to swimming and eager to learn the "stroke rules" quickly!  As an Official, your volunteer and committee requirements are both fulfilled with this volunteer job.

There are training sessions available before the season begins - including one on May 23rd at the Broadlands Community Center.  Other dates are available and will be shared with those interested.

Hytek Support:  We are in need of two volunteers to obtain training and join this committee.   This team logs all the times for each meet by heat/event and ensures you and your swimmer gets the up to date timings and scores for a meet. Our current team will start phasing out as their swimmers go off to college.   If you are interested in always being in the shade on your volunteer day then this is for you. Now is the time to join this team and learn the tricks from our experienced volunteers !   Training dates are upcoming and will be shared with those interested

If you are interested in either of these positions, please contact me asap so that further detail can be provided and you are booked on a training course. Our team is not a team without each and everyone one of you and we appreciate the support of all our families.
