June 1, 2015
Well the 2014-15 season is over; wow it just flew by! It was a great last week of celebrations with the Family Sprint Fest on Wednesday and then the Awards Banquet on Sunday night…a great way to end off an amazing season. This last weekly news will be all about preparing your swimmer for next season, so save this and remember to come back to it during the summer.
Summer Training (better to do some than none)
Ideally, we are still training through the summer and making gains in the strength and speed so that we are coming into August in good condition. But if your summer plans do not allow for this, then think about this. It only takes 2-3 training sessions per week to maintain your current physical condition. If you are not near a pool, then go for runs, do cross training workouts…do something!
Summer is a great time to get stronger…set your self a push up goal and stick to it.
Back to School morning swim camp (August 11th) 8:00am-11:00
This is a great way to get back together and tell stories about our intensive summer training camps. It will be a fun morning with dry land sessions and water sessions, so bring your running shoes, work out gear and swimming gear.
Buy training equipment overseas this summer:
Please read the squad equipment document on our webpage under the tab “Documents and Info”. You have a much better selection and way better price back in your home country than you do from our vendors.
*Please remember that training fins are short fins…not scuba fins.
*Buy extra goggles, they don’t go bad.
*13 and over please buy a drag suit. For those who did not have them this year, we wore surf shorts, but these restrict movement and do not do what we are intending them to do. Plus, for those not having drag pants next season…we will put rocks in the pockets of those surf shorts

2015-16 Swim Meet Schedule is posted on the website
Obviously, some of these dates are tentative. But for the most part this is what our swim meet schedule will look like for next year. Start dreaming of those PB swims.
Please remember that our two home meets (Swimfest and Splash) are mandatory. Put these on your calendar now and don’t double book! No excuses accepted.
That is all for now, have a great summer and see you on deck in August,
