Arkansas 10&Under breaks NAG 100m Fly Record

Andrew Rogers of the Arkansas Dolphins’ Swim Team has broken yet another 100 fly National Age Group Record, and for the first time it was in long course.

After ransacking the 100 yard fly record all winter long, Rogers swam a 1:06.52 that knocked seven-tenths of a second from Carson Foster’s 1:07.24, done in 2012. Foster’s swim made headline news at the time as he broke a record held by Michael Phelps: the winningest Olympian in history.

Rogers’ previous best time was a 1:07.56 done in mid-May, almost a month ago.

He’s swimming at the Bill Nixon Invitational this weekend in Lewisville, Texas, near Dallas. Also this weekend, he’s swum:

  • 4:43.14 in the 400 free;
  • 30.51 in the 50 fly;
  • 2:32.78 in the 200 IM;
  • 33.73 in the 50 back prelims (same Saturday morning session)

Rogers thrice broke the 100 yard fly National Age Group Record during the short course season:

Rogers will age up at the end of this month, making this meet one of her last as a 10 & under.
