Way to Go, Barracudas!

Swimmers & Families,

Coach Holly:  Congratulations on another great home meet!  Despite the awful weather conditions, Braddock swimmers and their parents really made the best of things.  It was a very close meet, with Braddock Heights losing by only 16 points.  All in all, a great meet under tough conditions.  Thanks to all parent volunteers for making it work!

Coach Kam: I am so proud of how everyone did this weekend.  Despite the weather, everyone had a great attitude and really stepped up a lot.  My goal for future meets is to get young swimmers to swim more events.  Let’s all work together to get there.  Great job, everyone!

Coach Raegan Great job to everyone this week!  I loved seeing people trying new things and doing well with them.  I’m so proud of all of the improvement from last week!  I can’t wait to see how people do in the weeks to come.  Fantastic job to everyone!

Coach Emma:  Great job to all the swimmers!  I was proud of each and every one of you!  Everyone has really improved since the last meet.  I’m excited to see everyone swim at the next swim meet!  See you all next week!  Go Barracudas!

Coach Reilly:  Everyone did awesome today!  I saw a lot of improvement from last week.  The finishes today were great.  I can’t wait to see how everyone does next week!

Coach Robby:  Another excellent meet.  The weather was not cooperating, but that did not stop our swimmers.  Everyone did great.  I saw a lot of what we worked on in practice performed in the meet.  Looking forward to another great week!

Swimmers of the Week  Every day the coaches make note of swimmers who stand out in a practice, in ways like working hard in the pool or dryland practice, listening to corrections and trying to make changes, encouraging teammates, having a good attitude or helping with pool set-up/tear down.  At the end of the week, we tally up the daily notes and choose a Swimmer of the Week.  The swimmers will receive a special t-shirt and get their picture taken for the team display case.  Normally we do two swimmers per practice, but this week we did it by age group because of the whole team being together on Fun Friday.  This week’s Swimmers of the Week are:

8-U Morgan Bartman, 9-10 Reagan Losquadro,  11-12 Thomas Hartinger, 13-14 Paul Hillsman, 15-Older Siglinda LyonsCongratulations, swimmers!

Upcoming Practice News Next Saturday we have no swim meet  because of the 4th of July.  In honor of Independence Day, this week is “Freedom Week”.  Every day we will have stations of different skills that the swimmers can choose to work on.  It will be a fun change from our usual routine. * There is NO PRACTICE on Wednesday evening.  That night there will be a special Water Polo Night for High School Swimmers from 8:15 – 9pm.  If your swimmer is entering 9th grade or older, they should come join the fun!

Have a happy 4th of July!  Go Barracudas!
