This Week

Swimmers & Families,

I hope everyone had a safe & happy 4th of July!   Now it’s time to get back to work.  It’s hard to believe, but we only have three weeks left of the season (4 weeks for All-Stars).   Let’s make the most of it!

This past week we had 12 swimmers sign up for night practices, and we had 35 attend.  I schedule coaches based on the numbers I expect, so PLEASE let me know in advance if your child will be swimming at the night practice.   You don’t need to ask, just send me a note at [email protected] to let me know.  I appreciate your help with this.

Remember to sign up for the Saturday Dearbought meet by Tuesday at noon.  For those of you who are new to the team, here is what you need to know about relays:  When I prepare the meet lineup, I make relays using the swimmers participating.  If you do NOT want your child in a relay, please make note of that in the comments section when you declare for the meet.  This is also where you will let me know if your swimmer needs to leave the meet early.  When I turn in my official entry, I list relay swimmers and relay alternates – swimmers who can take the place of scratched relay swimmers if necessary.   I can’t change things once the entry is in.   I usually have one or two alternates per age group/gender for each relay.  When you go to the meet on Saturday, check the handwriter’s sheet to see if your child is swimming a relay.  Relays are also posted at the check-in table for you.   We usually let alternates know as soon as we can if there are any changes to the relays due to scratches.  Relays score more points than Individual events, so it’s really important not to scratch relays.

This Thursday is our annual Nail Polish & Kickball Night.  It’s from 7-8:30pm at the Pavilion.  Bring some nail polish and get ready for some kickball.  It’s a great night of fun for everyone.  I hope you can make it!

Go Barracudas!
