July 20 News and Notes

Another Saturday another rain issue, thank you goes out to everyone for the patience showed on Saturday.  The Hurricanes again came up a little short in the score column but we showed some great swimming and had a ton of best times this weekend. Results have been posted on the results tab of the website.  This week is the final regular season meet and we are at home again, as we face the Ben Lomond Flying Ducks.  You should have received the meet invite by now, please sign up your swimmers and yourselves for the volunteer positions.

This week’s spirit night is sno-cones on Wednesday night, come and enjoy one of the hurricanes favorite treats.

The divisional meet is right around the corner and we have started to receive some information from Wellington about our team area and parking considerations.  As we get the information we will pass it along so you can prepare for the divisional meet.  As a reminder the Divisional meet is three team meet with all of the yellow teams involved (Brookside, Dale City, and Wellington).  In order to participate in the meet you must have swum 2 meets during the regular season.  The sign up for the swimmers is a bit different as you don’t select the events, you just indicate your swimmers will be there or not be there.  Coaches will place all swimmers in the events they will swim in the meet.

Wellington has provided us the link to order the divisional shirts that will be sold for this season.  This is not required but is a nice memento of the season and divisional meet.  The Hurricanes don’t have anything to do with the ordering/purchasing of the shirts so if you have any questions please use this link.   http://t-shirtpeople.com/PWSL_Divisionals/All-Products/-1    They are pre-order only and will delivered to the pool during the day of the divisional meet.

As the season comes to a close we have 2 other important events where we will need volunteer help.

  • Pasta night is the last spirit night of the season and we will need pasta cooked and brownies made.  Pasta will be served on Wednesday 29th, we will have pasta to pass out during practice Monday or Tuesday night of that week.
  • The end of year banquet is scheduled for Sunday after the divisional meet.  We will be putting together the volunteer list of items/positions soon, please be on the lookout for that invitation.

See you on deck.

Go Hurricanes !!!
