All-Star Meet Information

 All-Star Swimmers & Families,

This Saturday is the 25th  Annual All-Star Meet at Hood College!  I’m looking forward to some fast swims.  We have been taking it easy this week in hopes that your muscles will react well to the rest and you will swim faster.  Don’t do anything strenuous in the next two days!  Here is the meet information for Saturday:

  • Please arrive by7:10 am

  • Some groups are warming up as early as 6:25 in case you want to get there earlier for parking and setup

  • Our warm up is from 7:25 – 7:40 in lanes 6,7 &8

  • Opening ceremonies are at 8:30 with a Proclamation from County Executive Jan Gardner, Parade of Athletes, and the playing of our National Anthem.

  • Meet will begin at9am

  • When driving on campus slow down. There will be many pedestrians.

  • Parking: Avoid parking on Magnolia Ave. as it is a main emergency route. You are welcome to park on the cross streets, but parking on campus is much closer to the team areas than the street parking.  At practice on Friday I will give each swimmer a map of campus parking available.

  • Directions:  70 East to 15 North.  Exit Rosemont Ave, turn left onto Rosemont.  Turn left on Magnolis to pool entrance on the right.

  • The drive between the pool and Gambril will be closed off.

  • Bring tents, chairs and plenty of drinking water. It’s going to be hot.

  • Team areas will be marked with signs for each team.  We will all be located in the quad area together.  It is important that swimmers/families stay in our area and are not playing on the building steps or porches, as the school is still operating and running programs.  Hood also would appreciate that we stay out of the gazebo.

  • In order for everyone to be able to be a part of the opening ceremonies, the timers and Judges meetings will begin at 8am.  Timers will meet in front of the swimmers entrance to the pool outside, and the Judges meeting will be in the lobby of the pool house at the desk.

  • There will be concessions and programs for sale

  • We ask everyone’s help in making sure the grounds are clean when we leave.

  • Don’t forget your goggles or the sunscreen, and good luck All-Star Barracudas!

Go Barracudas!
