Weekly News (Sept 21-26)

Hello Panthers,

I just returned from our school’s first ever Pre-k to grade 12 assembly. As today is international Peace Day, we all gathered together to celebrate and recognize such a great cause. I was filled with a huge sense of pride as I watched so many of our swimmers singing and dancing as part of the day’s celebrations. We have such a talented bunch of kids on our team; in and out of the water.

We will continue this celebration on in to our practice times as the coaches will incorporate the number “21” and the peace theme into their practices today.

Happy Peace Day everyone!

Important Notes:

Patana Tiger Prawn Meet (this Saturday Sept. 26)

Last year I was incredibly happy with the level of participation we had at this meet. The ISB Panthers were represented by 27 eager 8 and under swimmers at our cross-town rivals first meet of the year. This year I am blown away to announce that we have 48 swimmers making the trek to Patana. Wow is all I can say! It is this kind of participation that makes a team successful. Thank you to all families for showing this level of commitment. Let's hope that your actions spill over to the rest of our meets this year!

I will email the entry report and program as soon as I get it from Patana. We have one 40-passenger bus leaving ISB at 7:00 am. I will also email the bus list with the program this week.

Swim-a-thon:

We are putting the finishing touches on our prize packages and charity info sheets for this years Swim-a-thon. We will put out and information email on Wednesday. Please mark the date on your calendar: October 29th after school

Junior and Senior Palooza: October 6th (Junior 10 and under) and October 7th (Senior 11 and over)

These are intra-squad meets held after school at the 50 m pool. Please plan to attend regardless of your training days. These are after school meets that we use to practice race like conditions and get our entry times up to date. Junior swimmers will not train on the 7th and Seniors will not train on the 6th.  October 6th is an early release day so we will be starting at 1:25pm

Meets to declare commitment (Decline if you are not going):

***Junior Palooza (10 and under) Tuesday October 6th (early dismissal)

***Senior Palooza (11 and over) Wednesday October 7th

***ISB Swimfest (MANDATORY HOME MEET): November 14th and 15th

***Singapore Fighting Fish Santa Claus Meet: November 28th and 29th

That is all for now, see you on deck!
