* Our practice schedule adjusts beginning tonight. The adjusted times are attached for you. Group 3 will start at 6:45pm with basic core strength work. Swimmers in groups 4 and 5 should have gym clothes and sneakers for the first 30 minutes of practice on M/W/F. They will then have time to change into their suits for their in-water workout.
* Congrats to our 24 swimmers who competed this past weekend at the WSY A/BB/C meet at Cumberland Valley. Primarily, our early-season meets serve to establish baseline times to improve upon throughout the season. They also allow us to gauge the athletes' conditioning and how well the practice work is translating to the racing pool. We've gotten off to a terrific start, as our swimmers posted 62 new personal best times! We also had 6 club records broken. Congrats to Brandon Estep (100 fly), Jillian Strine (200 free), Lek Powell (50 back), Makenna Morris (200 back), Sam Nonemaker (200 back), and Caleb Eveland (200 fly) on this achievement! We also want to give a shout to new SHIP swimmer Holly Geedy, who competed in three events in her first swim meet. Great job, swimmers!!!
* We will be having our Blue & White intrasquad meet on Wednesday, November 11 from 6-8pm. We split the team up into two squads and run through a "simulated" swim meet that is a lot of fun for all involved! It gives our new swimmers a chance to see what all goes into a swim meet. It also allows our new families to get a feel for the different meet jobs we have and which ones might suit each volunteer best. We'll warm-up from 6-6:20pm then run the meet from 6:30-8:00pm. I'll send a sign up link out under separate cover.
* There will be a handful of new swimmers from our last swim lesson session "trying out" the swim team over the next couple weeks. If you see an unfamiliar face, be sure to introduce yourself and welcome them to our team! We do really amazing work with our instructional program and the kids are excited about the opportunity to swim with the Sharks!
