Team Indiana Wins 32nd Annual Mid-States All-Star Meet

INDIANAPOLIS – Team Indiana won 21 individual and relay events on the way to first place finish in the 32nd Annual Mid-States Championships January 9-10, 2016 at the IUPUI Natatorium. In a tight two day team battle, Team Indiana scored 3687.50 pts to second place Team Ohio’s 3370 pts. Team Indiana was led by three time event winner Emily Weiss who set an Indiana Association 13-14 & meet Record in the 200 Breaststroke. Weiss also won the 100 Breaststroke & 200 Individual Medley events.  Nickolas Plumb was also a three event winner in the 10 & U Boy’s division with first place finishes in the 100 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle & 50 Butterfly Events.

19 Individual and 3 relay records were broken over the 2 day competition, with 4 individual relay meet records being broken by Team Indiana members.  Breaking records for Team Indiana were: Emily Weiss in the in the 13-14 Girl’s  200 Breaststroke (2:18.60),  Abby Jahns in the 13-14 Girl’s 1650 Freestyle (17:28.33), Cade Oliver in the 11-12 Boy’s 500 Freestyle (4:56.76) and Berit Berglund in the 10 & under Girl’s 100 Backstroke (1:05.31).
