The Fayetteville Aquatics Swim Team (FAST) grabbed a bevy of medals at the Polar Plunge swim meet over the weekend.
The three-day meet was Friday through Sunday at Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary.
FAST coach Oscar Roverato said swimmers from the program's Elite group made 42 final heats and posted 75 personal best times.
Libby Hetherington earned four medals, finishing first in the 100-yard breaststroke, second in the 200 individual medley and 200 breast, third in the 100 free.
Also competing in the 15-and-over division were Jake Guerrero, who took third place in the 100 back and fourth in the 50 free, and Timofey Boykov, who finished third in the 100 free, fourth in the 100 breast and fifth in the 100 fly.
Annabelle Tuley, another 15-and-over swimmer, earned third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke races. Fellow high school swimmer Adrianne Stevens took second place in the 50 free.
In the 10-and-under races, Roverato said FAST swimmers presented an impressive weekend of competition with 10 top-ten finishes including: Jeremy Hall (sixth in the 100 breast), Aetka Kallepalli (fourth in the 200 free), Ashton Bloedoorn (10th place in the 50 fly) and Bianca Perez (10th in the 50 breast).
