Weekly News (Feb 8-14)

Hello Panthers,

This week we are happy to have our MS swimmers back from their adventures, but now the HS swimmers are gone on GCW trips also. So we will look forward to next week when our whole team will be back together in the pool.

Good luck to the swimmers participating the ES Musical….break a leg!

For those of you still here this week, the pool will look very big…it is Long Course Training week!

Important Notes:

Good luck to swimmers attending ANS Titans Sprint Challenge this weekend:

Our warm up is 6:20, so we will have an early start. Train hard this week and represent our team well.  Saturday is black shirt days, remember that!

Bring in Lap it up shirts for adding new PB paws:

We are still missing many of the lap it up shirts, so we will be collecting the start of this week also.

Sunday Splash is Long Course Racing (50m), there are qualifying times:

For younger swimmers, please discuss with your coach as to if you qualify for the Sunday portion of the meet. I can see that many 8 and under swimmers have signed up, but it is my guess that many are not at the qualifying times yet. Coaches have been instructed to look at these entries and get back to you if you do not have qualifying times YET!

Saturday Splash Meet sign up now please:

30 more swimmers signed up last week, so now we are just getting down to about 25 more swimmers left. If you have not signed up, please do so this week.

Spring International Travel Meet: International School Manila:

We are meeting with the travel agent today and will have a travel package ready for you this week. For the first time ever we are going to organize the hotel and travel for you and then you can just pay at the CAO office and we take care of the rest. This will be the similar to most school trips and HS athletic trips.

Cold weather practices:

Unless the actual water temperature drops below 20 degrees Celsius we will not cancel swimming. But this does not mean that you can't make that call on cold days like today your self. Each child will have a different tolerance level for cold weather. If you feel your child will be too cold to swim, then please don’t hesitate to cancel that session. I am sure this will no longer be an issue as the hot weather is coming, I just wanted to let you know you had the option.

Unaccompanied Swimmers on Travel Meets (13 years and older):

From now on, we will allow 13 year olds and older to travel with the team unaccompanied by their parents. We will take extra coaches on these trips and will chaperone the swimmers throughout the whole trip. This is the policy I am more used to working with and I am hoping it will allow more swimmers to travel to our away meets.

Meets to declare commitment (Decline if you are not going):

***ISB Panther Palooza 2016 (all ages)***

***ISB Splash Saturday and Sunday (March 5/6)MANDATORY For Competitive Swimmers***

***Manila Spring Meet 2016 April 23/24***

That is all for now, see you on deck!

Coach Day,
