Happy Valentines Day Panthers (belated),
Wow, what a great weekend we all had at ANS’s first meet ever. After we got over the shock of seeing such a small 6-lane pool, we got down to some really good swims. Coaches were very happy with the 4th place showing. With sickness and such we ended up having 42 swimmers which was much less than the top 3 schools who had at least 20 more swimmers…so great work and effort.
Activity free long weekend (Feb 19-22 No Practices):
This weekend coming up is a 4-day “activity free weekend”. This break is put in place to ensure that our young student-athletes get the much-needed rest from the strenuous schedules they work through during the regular school week. So take advantage and get rested up…we will be waiting for the last push of workouts before we defend our Splash Championship.
Sunday Splash is Long Course Racing (50m), there are qualifying times:
For younger swimmers, please discuss with your coach as to if you qualify for the Sunday portion of the meet. I can see that many 8 and under swimmers have signed up, but it is my guess that many are not at the qualifying times yet. Coaches have been instructed to look at these entries and get back to you if you do not have qualifying times YET!
Travel Package Available: International School Manila:
We know have a hotel/flight travel package set up through the school. This is a one-payment group rate that includes airfare, accommodation and busing. This is a trial project and we hope it makes things much easier on families. I will attach this information sheet to the ISM Meet Information section (where you sign up for the meet). We will need commitments soon for this meet, so if you are interested please sign up. Remember 13 and over can travel with me unaccompanied by parents.
Meets to declare commitment (Decline if you are not going):
***ISB Splash Saturday and Sunday (March 5/6)MANDATORY For Competitive Swimmers***
***Manila Spring Meet 2016 April 23/24***
That is all for now, see you on deck!
