February 22, 2016
Hope our activity free weekend was great for all swimmers and they are rested up for the last couple weeks before our big international Splash Meet on March 5 & 6th. Remember that we will have an all ages spirit night and practice on Friday March 4th. We will have some fun relays, mentor instruction from the older swimmers and some high-energy carb treats for after. Please plan to attend regardless of your training days; it is a great night to pump up the spirit. We will start right after school and finish by about 3:30.
Also, congratulations and welcome back to the Peter Pan actors...hope you are ready to get back in the water!
Martin’s Cup Results (Thai National Qualifier):
Not all of our swimmers were resting this weekend, a small group of swimmers participated in Martin’s Cup; which is a qualifying meet for Thailand National Swim Championships. Three of our boys qualified for the Big Meet: Caleb Duval, Chanon Sawinatara and Tar Tar Jarusinchai. Well done boys and well done to the others that took the chance and gave it their best…next time.
Travel Package Available: International School Manila:
We have tried our best to make this work and it doesn’t seem to want to. The best we can do for this is that we have secured a team rate for both the hotel and the flight, you will just have to book them yourselves. The contact numbers for the hotel and flights are now on the web site attached to the ISM meet sign up page. We are still looking to get our numbers up for this meet, it will be a great way to end the year. Please contact me if you have any questions and remember. Travel meets are where swimmers truly fall in love with this sport...just ask someone who goes to the travel meets.
Splash Meet Reminder #1:
Please remember that a good warm up is the key to a good meet, be late and miss warm up and you are setting a really bad tone for the day. So be early and start the day off right! Also, bring everything you need and more. Black shirts on Saturday, if you wake up and can’t remember because you are so excited…bring both! Bring good healthy snacks (see website for examples) and snack all day long to keep your energy up. Eat a biggggg carb rich dinner the night before, start a traditional family pre-swim meet dinner and then stick with it (if it worked good). If you have any questions about what else to do…ask your coach, that's what we are here for.
Meets to declare commitment (Decline if you are not going):
