Coach DawnElla's Meet Recap: Senior Classic (February 12-15 2016)

CAST rounded out the 2016 Senior Classic (February 12-15, 2016) coming in 6th overall and the highest ranked SDI team. Our own Sarah N was 2nd in the ladies high point and Carlson T came in at men’s number 10. It was a gorgeous weekend and CAST (and CAST swimmers) did very well despite illness taking its toll in the days leading up to the meet and at the meet itself.

Friday night opened up the meet with best times in the 1000 free for Sarah, Lael, Cassidy, Gillian, Mitchell, Carlson, and Gavin.

On Saturday the best times continued in the 200 IM for Morgan, Trinity, Elina, Jason, and Gavin; in the 500 free for Cassidy, Baylee, and Mitchell; in the 100 breast for Morgan, Itzel, Carlson, Jason, Gavin, and Chris; in the 200 back for Cassidy, Shelby, Maya, Gillian and Kyle; in the 50 free for Trinity, Taylor M, Cassidy, Chris and Jason.

Sunday brought new personal bests in the 100 back for Cassidy, Trinity, Andrew, Mitchel and Jason; in the 200 free for Trinity, Cassidy, Mitchell, Chris and Jason; in the 100 fly for Itzel, Shelby, Elina, Carlson, Gavin and Isaac; and in the 400 IM for Morgan, Itzel, Maya GH, Gavin and Mitchell.

Monday was the final day of Senior Classic and brought best times in the 100 free for Trinity, Cassidy, Elina, Jason and Chris; in the 200 fly for Shelby, Cassidy, Andrew and Carlson; in the 200 breast for Morgan, Elina, Maya GH, Carlson, Gavin, and Jason; and finally in the 1650 free for Sarah, Gavin, and Kyle.

Many, many swimmers made finals throughout the meet making it exciting and for us coaches and the relay teams are always fun to watch.

For some this was a last Senior Classic with CAST and I know it will not be the same without you; but life marches forward and the experiences you take with you will make you a better person. CAST is happy to be part of what makes up the unique and wonderful person that is you.

Now - on to long course . . . .
