Weekly News (March 7-12)

Hello Panthers,

Congratulations to all Panther Swimmers for putting in their best effort and earning those PB swims this weekend at our Splash meet. It is a also a very nice bonus that all those huge efforts earned our team the Championship High Point Trophy, keeping it where it belongs here at ISB.

The coaches were so very proud to hear from the volunteers that our swimmers always seemed to be early behind the blocks and prepared for their races. We have worked hard at practice in this area and it showed. I was also very pleased that our swimmers were early for warm up and well prepared on the day of the race, this is the best way to start a meet. I hope this is a habit that this team now has for life.

I would also like to thank all of the many volunteers who put that exact same effort the swimmers did. As we always say it is impossible for us to have swim meets without the parents doing what they do. Thanks a million!

Important Notes:

Friday Night Spirit Night:

This was a great way to start the weekend off, thanks goes out to the parents who helped with the great snacks and the high school team (led by Um and Maddie) for mentoring the young Panthers and trying to help prepare them for the weekend. I think the results showed just how well you did.

Parents please do your best in the future to have your swimmer attend this part of the weekend. The work they do with the older swimmers is incredibly valuable to all involved.

TYR Swim Suits Looked great:

Thanks to Tanisara, our sponsorship director, for the months of work she put in to bring this deal together. I think the team looked fantastic! The other coaches were in awe when I told them the sponsorship deal we have with a world leader like TYR.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Practices stay the same:

This Thursday and Friday we will maintain the same practice schedule as normal.

BISAC Team Announced this Friday March 11:

BISAC Swimming Championship will take place at Harrow International School on March 26th (Senior) and 27th (Junior).

Coach Golf Resigns:

Our coaching staff and all of Coach Golf’s swimmers are very sad to learn that Coach Golf will no longer be coaching for the ISB swim team. We will miss him immensely.

For the rest of this year, Coach Day will be taking over the 8 and under Stingray squad (Coach Golf’s Squad) and for the High School Squad; Coach Nuk and Coach Day will be combining the top 13/14 Squad and the High School Squad, then coaching the group together. We will do our best to make the best out of a very difficult situation.

Meets to declare commitment (Decline if you are not going):
