Weekly News (March 28-April 2)

Hello Panthers,

Our action packed BISAC weekend is now done and in the books. At the end of the weekend we held on to our 3rd overall place in the conference. At the age group level our only squad to bring home the Championship trophy was our 15 and over boys, so well done boys. Both our 15 and over girls and our 8 and under girls came in a close 2nd place, with our wee girls coming 1 "heart breaking point" away from holding on to the trophy for a second straight year.

Well done all swimmers, you competed well…had fun and made us proud.

Important Notes:

Khun Sanit: Guest Speaker at Thailand Swimming Association Meetings:

As most of you know, the Starter and Head Thai Official at all of our home swim meets is also a ISB employee and one of the top ranking FINA and TASA officials in Thailand and South East Asia. This month the annual officials training sessions are in Bangkok and our very own Khun Sanit is the head guest speaker. We are very lucky to have him on our campus.

PB ribbons and BISAC awards will be in your mailboxes at the end of this week:

There were some mistake made in the awards and Harrow has asked for them back, so we will not get our awards until Wednesday afternoon. Sorry

Lap it up shirts:

We have not received many of our younger swimmers lap it up shirts. This program is in place to acknowledge the accomplishments of our swimmers. We have been keeping track of the years PB swims, so please bring the shirts in after Pentathlon and we will get them stamped and back to you before the end of year.

Safety Reminder: Take care of your personal belongs at the Aquatics Center:

This is just a reminder for all swimmers to either lock up their personal belongings in the change rooms or keep them out on the pool deck during the swim practices so they can be looked after. Better safe, than sorry.

ISB Pentathlon Meet: May 14th

This is a 3 team friendly meet with Patana and ANS. There is a long history between these three teams and they compete hard against each other all year. So this is a great way to end the year. This meet has no awards and is meant to celebrate a great season with our fellow Bangkok swimmers.

You can sign up on the website now.

Year End Celebrations: Sprintfest and Awards Dinner (May 25th)

PLEASE MARK ON YOUR CALENDARS NOW! I am sure that most of you have already marked this event down on your personal calendars; especially, the parents who competed last year at the Sprintfest. This is an amazingly fun day of celebration for all of our swimmers. Please do not miss this day.

Right after school at the 50 m pool we will have a 25m-sprint race event, which will include many parents, teachers and friends of the swim team. We will have a 100m free relay race at the end for all those families and other special teams that want to compete together one last time. All parents email me directly to sign up. This year we will also have some parent practices in April and early May to get you all ready.

Following the met we will have an Awards Dinner in the MPR rooms. This will be a casual dress event with food and awards to follow. Again, please plan to attend this dinner. There will be more information on dinner sign up at a later date.

Jr. Panther Fun Meet: Friday May 6th

Our newest Panther swimming squad is going to have it’s first ever fun meet. Two of our High School Swimmers (Veronica and Maddie) are going to organize the whole event. This will start at 2:30 and end by 3:30. There will be some yummies and fun times at the end. We will be contacting Jr. Panther parents directly to ask for some volunteers to help out. So please put this on your calendar. This meet will take place at the 25m pool.

Meets to declare commitment (Decline if you are not going):

*** 10 and under Kick off Meet April 4th 2:30-3:30***
