Ella Harford - Ulster Age Group Championships (April 8th - 10th 2016)

 What a fantastic trip to the Ulster Age Groups at the weekend!  A team of 27 Leinster Swimmers travelled to Bangor supported by Coaches Anne Burdis & Andrew Dowling and team managers Andrea Gardiner, Sandra Cole & Deirdre Hurley.  It was a fantastic weekend for Leinster Swimming winning an astounding 79 medals and swimmers achieving very impressive personal best times.  Congratulations to all Swimmers Involved.

Barracuda Swim Team are delighted that one of our swimmers Ella Harford was chosen to represent Leinster at this event.  It was Ella’s first trip away with the Leinster Squad and boy did she prove she deserved her spot on the team.  It was a long hard weekend but she proved herself time and time again.  She did her club, coaches, province and family proud.

Ella raced a total of 11 times over the weekend in eight events, making 3 finals and winning medals in three heat declared winner events. 

  • 800FC 1st Place finish,
  • 400IM 2nd place finish,
  • 200 BS 2nd place finish,
  • 400 FC 3rd place finish,
  • 100 BS 3rd place finish, 
  • 200IM 6th place finish,
  • 100BC 8th place finish, 

It was described as “a privilege to be part of such an amazing team and to compete at such a high level over the course of the three days” by male team Captain Sean Scannell.  We are all very proud of Ella to have been part of such an impressive team of swimmer who excelled and showed great potential for the future of the sport.
