Safe Sport Events
you to those who were able to attend the April workshop in Denver,
it was a well-attended, productive weekend. All in attendance were
able to participate in the Diversity & Inclusion presentation
by Dena Samuels discussing unpacking our biases and behavior. We
then spent our time together reviewing current Safe Sport projects
and initiatives such as the Club Safe Sport Self-Assessment, Safe
Sport at Meets and Hear Something See Something, Say Something; all
of which are ways you can spread the Safe Sport message throughout
your LSCs. The weekend concluded with a day of collaboration
between chairs through LSC and Zone breakout sessions. Thank you
for your feedback through the follow up survey. Your honest
feedback directs future projects, workshop topics and agendas. If
you would like access to the workshop materials, you can view them
through dropbox here or through google drive here.

Safe Sport Awareness
the first time ever, Safe Sport will have a presence in the Aqua
Zone at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, NE. We want to offer fans
the opportunity to share the positive experiences they have had
with the sport of swimming, showing that a positive healthy team
culture supports an environment that keeps kids safe from abuse.
Safe Sport will feature a sports desk interview booth where kids
will be filmed discussing a variety of topics including their
favorite swimming memory or team pump up rituals to how their coach
is a positive role model. Participants will then be able to access
their videos to share with family, friends, or social media. Come
visit us if you’re in Omaha and keep a close eye on the Safe
Sport social media pages to see highlights from the Aqua
