July 6-11, 2016     - Head Coach Malwina Bukszowana

Day 1
Rennes Lindsay had a very good 800 Free race. Considering her injury, she swam very well finishing 4th in her age group. Her swim was very good, but unfortunately Rennes lost her chance for a bronze just on the finish, she was too slow on her touch.

Our younger swimmer, Amelia Ford, came 12th in 50 Fly and 13th in 50 Back improving her best times. It is her first AAA swim meet, so Amelia had to overcome the stress.

Thomas Bakica improves his 1500 Free, but this time it is not enough to climb into a final position. He needs a little more experience in that event, he knows that he could go faster.

Adrian Robinson improves his 50 Fly (28.11) and 50 Breast time and finishes 11th Breast (31.69). Both his races were new club records.

Hannah Kingscote improved in 50 Fly. Her stroke looks much better but we still have a lot of room for improvement here and we need to keep working on the finishes.

Cassis Lindsay swam very good in her 50 Fly, improving her best time and finishing 10th. Her dive still needs some work, but her underwater off the blocks brings her ahead of other girls in the first meters of the race.

Day 2
Only one final for WGB swimmers today.  Cassis Lindsay swims into B final in her 100 Free and she ends up at 13th position in her age category.
Amelia Ford had a very good 100 Free swim finishing 11th. In her age group there is only an A final at this swim meet, so Amelia didn't get a second swim. She is fast but she still has a huge room for improvement.

Day 3
Cassis Lindsay qualifies into A final in 50 Free and she finishes 3rd breaking her personal best time. This is our first medal during AAA BC Championships. She was 3rd last summer in the same event, so it is nice to keep the same position in the sprint.

Adrian Robinson is not fast enough to make a final in 50 Free but he breaks the WGB club record (25.62).

Amelia Ford came 9th in 50 Free and she missed her A final only by 0.06 second. This was a good swim for her.

Day 4
Adrian Robinson breaks the WGB club record in 100 Breast (1.12.50), but still missing his final and a long way to work towards improvement.

Day 5
Thomas Bakica swims very good 400 Free. He held even splits, and he improved a lot, but it was still not enough to qualify for the final. The transition from AA to AAA BC Championships is not easy for young swimmers.

Rennes Lindsay swam 400 Free in A final. She was doing very well, she had a great second half of her race, but Rennes didn't fully pay attention to the other side of the pool, where another finalist was passing her on the last few strokes. Rennes came 4th and lost her bronze medal by 0.05 sec.

Amelia improves her times in 100 Fly and 100 Back. Both of her swims are good and again she misses the finals just by few spots. This is still a good weekend for her. Amelia never swam in long course pool before and this is her first AAA swim meet.

Hannah and Cassis both race 100 Fly and both have a good race, but again, it is too slow to get into the final.

Day 6
This is a day for our long distance specialists taking part in BC Open Water Championships. For both Thomas and Rennes swimming outside in the lake was fun. Rennes is 9th and Thomas is 10th. They both came out after the race happy and they want to do it again.
