Proposed Amendment to the CSL Piranhas Organizational By-laws

After carefully reviewing the time commitment and knowledge required for the Team Rep position, the Board has determined that it would be beneficial to add a second Team Rep to the swim team Board. The Team Rep represents our team at League meetings, serves as a liaison between the Team and the League, reports on league issues at Board meetings and General Membership meetings, serves as the primary point of contact for other teams in the League, ensures Team compliance with League rules and requirements, attends ALL meets, and manages meet preparations and operations. The Team Rep is the reason our meets run so smoothly!

By spreading the Team Rep responsibilities across two individuals, we will better align the level of commitment/responsibilities for each Team Rep with the level of commitment/responsibilities of other Board members and Committee Chairs, and more easily cover league meetings and meets. The two Team Reps will serve staggered terms, so that there is always one Team Rep with a year of experience to mentor the new Team Rep. In addition, the two Team Reps will share a single vote on the Board.

This change to the Board structure necessitates changes to the Team bylaws related to the terms of Board members as well as the voting rights. Changes to the Team bylaws require a vote of the Team membership. Please review the changes outlined below and then use the link provided in the email sent on July 29th to vote for or against the amendment to the bylaws. Voting will remain open through August 10, 2016.
