I have an update on the pool situation at JCP today--
This morning we received an e-mail from the JCP General Manager advising of the decision to close all pools at JCP as a preventative measure to insure the safety of all residents and swim team participants. In the e-mail we were advised that the pool company that is currently overseeing the pools recommended the closure to eliminate the inconsistent chemical levels which are being caused by pump room/equipment issues at both facilities until those repairs can be completed. Additional information was sent to residents in an e-blast and on Facebook.
At this point the soonest we can expect to resume practice is Monday, 8/29. We are working to determine if we can make other arrangements if this closure lasts longer and will communicate those details to you should they happen.
Stay tuned for more information with regard to our annual kickoff party event scheduled for Friday 8/26. We will let you know the status of this event as soon as possible.
The JCP General Manager told us the Department of Health was on site yesterday and gave all pools a satisfactory rating. I personally checked the chemical readings at the Recreation Center yesterday during our practices and the levels were appropriate. Swimmer safety continues to be our top priority and we will continue to be diligent working with the JCP GM and Board of Supervisors to make certain our pools are properly maintained and safe when practices resume.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
