Welcome Coach Meyers!


Mike comes full circle to PTSC, after 33 years, from Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics (PEAQ) and Chartiers Valley High School.

In his Tenure at Wheeling Jesuit, Meyers’ teams have won the Appalachian Swimming Conference 2 times and 1 Runner up in the men’s Division and 1 Championship and 2 Runner’s up in the Women’s.  The team has also won the Blue Devil Invitational 2 times, and the Grove City Invitational once.  Meyers’ swimmers now hold 29 of the 39 School Records, have set over 30 Conference Records, and chalked up 40 NCAA “B” Qualifying times over the 3 year period.   The Swimmers have also excelled in the Class room earning NCAA/CSCAA Team Scholar All Americans 5 of the last 6 semesters.

Former coach at Chatham University (2004-2011) where he started the teams, and won the AWCC Conference Championship in their third year, and  won Coach of the Year twice. He coached the first PAC Champion and Water Polo All American in Schools history.  Both teams: swimming and water polo, were NCAA Team Academic All Americans.

He was also Head Coach at Peters Townships HS and PTSC for 8 years and coached several WPIAL and PIAA Champions and Record holders, 32 High School All Americans, 10 National Qualifiers, and 40+ All State swimmers.

As a college swimmer at West Liberty State College was an NAIA All American in 13 events and All Conference in 16 events and Conference Record holder.

He has been inducted into 3 Halls of Fame: West Liberty State University Athletic Hall of Fame, -Swimming 1999, Penn Hills High School Hall of Fame, -Swimming 2008, Peters Township Swimming Wall of Fame, Coaching 2008.

Meyers also enjoyed a long career in the International Airlines business, serving British Airways for 14 years in several sales, marketing and pricing positions.

He is married to Judi Meyers for 40 years, three adult children, Matthew, Courtney and Megan, 6 grandchildren and resides in Upper St. Clair, PA.
