Open Letter to North Texas Swimming:
I have been a proud member of North Texas Swimming for several years. Of late, I am disturbed by many of the things that have been going on. We have forgotten the very reason why we exist, for the athletes. We have teams angry with other teams and refusing to invite them to meets. We have coaches upset with other coaches over some of their practices. We have officials who will not work with other officials at meets. We have stopped talking and immediately start accusing. We have as an LSC forgotten who we exist for, the ATHLETES. I ask all of you to stop thinking of ourselves first and remember to put our athletes first in all of our decisions.
As many of you are aware, I have had health problems for the last 2 years. So, I know that I have not had as much patience as I should, and have not handled items as I should. It is because of this that I am resigning from the board of North Texas Swimming. I know over the next few weeks, our General Chair and the board will be able to find replacements for me as the Sanction Chair, NTV Chair, and webmaster. I know that we have good people willing to step up and do the right thing for our athletes.
I am not leaving the LSC and officiating. I will still be on deck at meets, and hope to continue to work with all of you.
Thank you for all of your support. Please remember that all that we do should be for our ATHLETES.
