Weekly News (October 10-16)

Hello all Panthers,

Training schedule information: This is our peak volume week of our Phase 2 training cycle. What that means is; for the last 4 weeks we have been building up the amount of work we have been doing. This week will be the most difficult week of the cycle and then we will have a recover the following week.  So very important to not miss training this week.

Important Notes:

ISB GIRL POWER: Some very old Swim records have fallen this year:

9/10 200 IM: Emerson Davis Nov 19/2011 broken by Amolrada Chawaldit

11/12 100 IM: Holly Harper Feb 14/2006 broken by Sophie Nguyen

8 & under 25 fly: Sophia Dunn March 15/2016 broken by Yarinda Sunthornrangsri

8 & under 50 free: Addie Hermann Nov 27/2004 broken by Yarinda Sunthornrangsri

Congratulations girls, keep up the good work. Lot’s of year left to go after the rest of the school benchmarks. All school records are updated and can be found at the end of the 50m pool breeze way and on our website.

Big team going to NIST this weekend!

With almost 80 swimmers going to NIST this weekend, ISB will be well represented and I am sure they will all make us proud. Go Panthers!

Winter Swim Camp in Phuket sign up deadline this weekend, but it is a go!

We have well exceeded our minimum numbers to go ahead with this winter camp, but there is still room for many more. Currently we have 30 families attending the camp. Please sign up on the website and view the flight and hotel room booking procedure under the sign up information.

Camp dates are January 6th and 7th.

Perth Indian Ocean All Stars Challenge (April 15th & 16th):

ISB swim team attends this meet every second year. This is an amazing experience for our team as we compete as part of team Asia against Team Australia. This year, the meet is part of the April holiday making it a great time to take the whole week and visit Australia after the meet. Sign up now on the website.

Swim-a-thon (October 20th) Bring a friend this year:

It has come to my attention that some parents would like to participate in this event. I think that is an amazing idea. This is about raising funds for a good cause and bringing our team closer together. What could be better than having parents and kids swim together? So if you want to join your swimmer, please feel welcome.

We have a week and a half to raise more funds and prepare for the big event next Thursday.

October Break Training Sessions:

We will have training sessions at the 50m pool on October 25/27/29.

Training time will be 8:00am-9:00am.
