Aerial Mosquito Spraying Tonight Follow-Up

Loggerhead Families,

Tonight at 8:00 PM, St Johns County will conduct aerial spraying for the influx of mosquitoes after Hurricane Matthew. This is extremely unlikely to affect our pools, as the compound being used, Naled, is being dispersed as an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spray. ULV sprayers dispense very fine aerosol droplets containing small quantities of active ingredient insecticide that drift through the air and kill mosquitoes on contact, but does not have a large impact on larvae since the amount that reaches the ground is small. Additionally, Naled  rapidly degrades in the presence of water and by alkali.

Reminder:

Residents should not be outdoors, nor should their pets be outdoors during this time.

Late Silver at the Rec Center will end EARLY at 7:30 pm.

Gold will finish at 7:30 pm, as usual.

We ask that everyone pick up their swimmer ON TIME at 7:30 pm – coach will have swimmers out of the water on time. We wish to eliminate any potential problems.

Please be on your way home by 7:31 pm cool

Please be PROMPT!

Thank you,
Loggerhead Coaching Staff
