Call for Meet Officials:  Hello Swim Families!   My name is Shelly Brandenburger and I'm the lead official for the BSC team. I'm writing to encourage you to consider becoming an official for the team! It's a fun job and one in which you learn a lot about swimming to bond with your child on - plus being on deck, we get the best views in the house of the kids' swims!!  :-)   It's not hard - or scary - I promise!  And USA Swim/our team will provide you with all the training and supplies needed - plus you get free food at every meet you work! :-)  If interested, you need to work 4 shifts as an "Official-in-Training" plus take an online (open-book) test - and you can get some (or all!) of those shifts done at our upcoming Home Meet (these would count as shifts worked towards the minimum requirements)!   Simply go to the Job Sign-up and put yourself down for one of our 5 training shifts (Fri PM, Sat AM, Sat PM, Sun AM or Sun PM) and then touch base with me and I'll get you started on the paperwork. We cannot run a Home Meet without officials (and we need more!!) - and remember, it's the proceeds from the Home Meets that keep ALL of our dues reasonable.   Please consider taking on this important role for our team and feel free to contact me with any questions.               Shelly Brandenburger, Head Official, Brookings Swim Club, , Cell:  605-651-0465

All-Star Information:  It’s that time of year again for All-Stars! The meet will once again be held in Elk Horn, NE January 13-15, 2017. This year the coaches are myself, Wendy Ahrendsen, and Dawn Bergeson.

All-Stars is a meet for swimmers who are 14 & under and in the top 5 in the their age group in any particular event. We come together to compete against teams from Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska so please encourage any swimmers who may meet those requirements to consider applying. Just a reminder that swimmers must apply before the deadline of Monday December 19th to be considered for the team. No applications will be taken after that deadline. Also, it is worth reminding your families that the qualification period for All-Stars is January 9th - December 19th, 2016, so times from the last short course yards season are considered as well. The Top 16 reports on the SD Swimming website are only for this season, so while they provide a good indication, they are not the only times considered for qualification.
Registration this year will also take place online. Families must complete the online registration at and will open for registration Monday November 7th. When registering their swimmers, families must use the exact name their swimmers are registered as under USA Swimming, this helps make it easier for us to make sure their best times are all accurate. Once families are registered and approved on the website, they must go in and commit their athletes to the All-Stars meet, just like they would for any regular meet if your team uses Team Unify for meet entries.    Please register at:
The event page on the that website will be updated with information such as apparel order forms, team picture ordering, hotel information, etc. Please keep checking back in as more information is added. Once they are registered and committed to the meet, they will receive email notifications directly from the coaching staff.
If you could help us out and send this to those on your team that might be interested we would appreciate it!
