Like in the past, this conference is an industry professional development opportunity. The conference is free to attend and USA Swimming will be providing all food and lodging for the weekend. Please join us if you can! Athlete Protection Training! Be sure to renew your athlete protection training by the end of the year and to remind people in your LSCs to do the same. No one wants to be kept off the deck because they did not get it done in time. Don't wait till the last minute! You can access the renewal training at the below link. Please be sure to follow the prompts so you take the correct course.

Safe Sport Mondays...Remind the coaches in your LSC to participate in Safe Sport Mondays. This is a simple way to spark conversation about Safe Sport and positive team culture. December's Safe Sport Monday has a fun twist. With the holiday season all around us, we are encouraging everyone to engage in acts of kindness with the goal to create an environment that is inclusive, safe and fun. People want to be a part of a team that has this kind of culture. You can find this month's scenario and all of the past Safe Sport Monday Scenarios at www.safesport.org/toolkit
Diversity and Inclusion
Looking for a fun way to engage everyone on your team? Here is a great idea...At the National Office, all headquarters staff were invited to join a lunchtime potluck. We were encouraged to bring a dish that represents our home state, our heritage or culture, a special tradition or a signature dish. We had a smorgasbord of food and were able to learn more about each other as descriptions and stories came about as to why these dishes were important to us. This was simple, included any and everyone, and we all had a lot of fun. Having opportunities like this is a fantastic way to create a positive team culture on your team!
LSC Safe Sport Chair Highlight
Big shout out to Colorado Swimming Safe Sport Chair, Linda Eaton! Linda recently tabled at a meet in her area. She had educational material for both parents and athletes as well as all the materials for kids to make their own Safe Sport posters. Linda used the Aqua Zone Safe Sport Real Talk idea and did a great job making it work at the meet. She recorded the athletes sharing their favorite memories, best qualities of a coach and teammate and then showed them on the big screen during warm ups. The kids were excited to see themselves and have posters to take home with them. Thank you, Linda, for great work in sharing the Safe Sport message.
