Weekly News (Feb 13-18)

Hello all Panthers,

I hope everyone enjoyed their activity free weekend and have a whole bunch of energy saved up to race their best this week. Your coaches are looking forward to seeing how you perform with our two big events fast approaching (Splash weekend on March 4/5th and BISAC on March 25/26th). The swim programs will be emailed out over the next two days.

Important Notes:

Track Season is starting, please use the walk way:

As you probably have noticed, the High School Track and Field season has begun. I would ask that you please walk around instead of crossing the track. It is both dangerous for you and an obstruction for the athletes. Thanks for helping make ISB a safe environment for sport!

Caps and Swim Suits for New Swimmers:

We will have a table set up to hand out swim caps to new swimmers this week during paloozas. We will also have smaller swimsuits for our new little ones. The larger sizes will be in by the end of the month and we will get those to you before the Splash weekend.

Schedules for Palooza Meets this week:

Senior(11&Over) Feb 15th:

3:30-5:00pm at the 50m pool

Junior(10&under) Feb16th:

2:30-3:30 at the 50m pool

Jr. Panther swim practices will take place as regularly scheduled at 3:45 (25m pool).

Splash Spirit Night (Friday, March 3rd 2:30-3:30)

As with all of our big championship meets, we will have an all-age spirit night night on the Friday before the meet. This is for all swimmers and their family to attend. We will have the older swimmers mentoring the younger swimmers for the whole practice. They will be lending their expertise in how to get ready for the big day. This will include some of their best kept secrets. Please put this on your schedule and let's see 100% of our team out for this event. Yummy and healthy pre-swimmeet treats served afterwards.

BISAC Swim Championships: What is this all about?

BISAC Swim Meets are selection meets in which our top swimmers in each age group are selected to represent ISB for the Bangkok International School Athletic Conference Championships. Very soon, our coaches will be contacting you if they are thinking about selecting your swimmer. They will ask you to commit to the weekend before informing the swimmers they have been selected.

If you say yes, this is 100% confirmation that you will be available. If you think there is a chance you will not be available please decline from the start. It is an honor and a privilege to be selected for this team. Relay teams are selected early and the team will train together in these groups before the competition. There is a huge amount of conversation, work and care that goes into making these decisions. Please don’t make us do it twice by backing out last minute. This does not coincide with our team values of commitment and teamwork. Thanks in advance for your support.

Dragon’s Den Swim Meet in Singapore: Minimum Swimmers Met will be traveling to this meet (April 21-23):

We are approaching 20 swimmers for this meet, so let’s see if we can beat our attendance from 2 years ago. Last Dragons Den meet we traveled with 24 swimmers.
