Team Records Fall at Stanford Grand Prix Meet

Three Team Records Fell last weekend at the Grand Prix meet at Stanford University. The Grand Prix meets are put on by USA swimming as a series of top draw senior meets to bring together the nations best competitors their are about 8 grand prix meets between January and June leading to the Olympic trials. Two were held last weekend, one at Stanford and the other in Ohio. 80 to 90% of the nations best swimmers could be found at one of the two meets last weekend.

Two team records were broken Justin Difederico : the 200M back ---2:13.60, breaking Evan Simoni’s record of 2:13.64; and the 100M Fly ---- 57.73, breaking his own record of 58.02. The third record belongs to Melissa Berkay in the 200 Fly 2:21.17, Breaking Rachel Heims record 2:23.80.

The facility at Stanford is awesome --- two 50Meter pools,  a diving well 25 yds x 25 mtrs with 10M diving tower, and a
"main attraction"  pool for competitions other than 50M competitions. It was great to get a few swimmers at this high level meet and be competitive.
