Spring Splash

What a great time! I was so proud of the kiddos, the masters swimmers, and all the coaches and volunteers who showed up to run this meet.  Typically, our meets are run by all of our parents and it’s so important to get involved. Thanks also for our Jr. and Sr. swimmers who came to support the younger swimmers and lead by example. We are building a better team every day!

Swim meets on the horizon…

Good luck!!! to Matt Drew, Erin Hagerty, Mally Ulatowski, and Avery Bills as they compete in the 12&under state meet this weekend in Holland.  This is the last meet for the 12& unders to top off a very successful season for the group as a whole.

And in April, 3rd-7th, two swimmers, Julia Brunner and Elliot Olsson, are the first ever YMCA National qualifiers for the Breakers.  These student/athletes will be traveling to Greensboro, NC over spring break, with their families in order to compete. “Y Nats” as they are referred to are one of the top 10 most competitive meets in the country. I will be traveling with them.

A group parent will reach out to you for this fundraising event.  All families in the Devp groups or higher have a commitment, both volunteer and fundraising for the Fall and winter/spring.  These Fundraisers help support coaching travel and training, equipment for all swimmers, and also bringing an Olympian or two here for awesome clinics! Thanks to Shelly Drew and the team parents for shouldering this event!

Any questions about any of the above please reach out to me via email kathy@gtbayymca.org or phone 231-486-6357 x142
