State Championship Highlights:

PIAA 2A: 
DAY 1
Kayla Lichtner (Fr), 200 IM- 2:11.43, 13th place in the state

LMHS finishes as the State Runner-up (2nd fastest in the State) in 200 Medley Relay (24.05/Kelly- 27.46/Lutter- 23.61/Shipp- 22.21- 1:37.33)

Chris Kelly (Jr) dropped 3 seconds in the 200 IM- 1:57.57 (new Sectionals cut), 9th place in the state while Tommy Lutter (So) earned 15th place in the state with a 2:00.41.

Moment's later Tommy Lutter grabbed 12th place in the state in the 100 Fly with a 52.36.

DAY 2
Kayla Lichtner, 100 Free- 53.99, 20th place in the state

DAY 1
Liam Smith (Fr), 200 Free, 1:42.27, 16th place in the state

DAY 2
Liam Smith, 100 Free, 46.97 (new Jr. Nat Cup cut), 14th place in the state

Lower Moreland Shines at PIAA States

Lower Moreland High School swimmers made a major statement in the state following a multitude of outstanding performances. 
 

2017 PIAA 2A State Championships Results:

LMHS became the State Runner-up in 200 Medley Relay (Killion-24.05/Kelly- 27.46/Lutter- 23.61/Shipp- 22.21= 1:37.33 SCHOOL RECORD)

 

Junior standout Connor Killion captured 2nd in the 200 Free with a PR of 1:40.72 SCHOOL RECORD

Out of 158 PIAA AA High School Boys Swimming and Diving teams, our LM Boys are in 5th place as a team at the conclusion of the swimming events this past week at Bucknell University.

Numerous top 16 finishes and team records were earned:
- Connor Killion led the way with an individual first in the 100 yard backstroke - the first individual State Champion in LM boys swimming that anyone can remember. Also, earning All-American honors with his time. He also finished second in the 200 yard freestyle. He broke his own team records in both events.
- The 200 yard medley relay consisting of Connor Killion, Chris Kelly, Tommy Lutter and Colin Shipp finished second and broke the team record established last year by almost two seconds.
- The 400 yard freestyle relay consisting of Connor Killion, Colin Shipp, Tommy Lutter and Chris Kelly finished fifth and broke their own team record established two weeks ago by over two secconds.

Other top finishes and team records were:
- Chris Kelly 9th in the 200 yard IM and 13th in 100 yard breaststroke with new team records in both
- Tommy Lutter 12th in the 100 yard butterfly and a new team record along with 15th in the 200 yard IM
- Dan Shevelev 10th in the 100 yard backstroke

Michael Watanabe will represent LM in diving this coming weekend at Bucknell University. Congratulations to our swimmers on this tremendous success, the highest team AA State ranking anyone can remember and good luck to Michael this weekend!
